9:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Children’s Railroad Days art display and used book sale at the Durand Memorial Library

5 p.m.-Closing Carnival rides by Big Rock Amusements sponsored by Durand Area Lions Club. Wristband price for this session is $20

6 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Euchre tournament at the Durand Union Station; registration begins at 6 p.m. with play starting at 6:30 p.m. Entry fee is $10

FRIDAY, May 19, 2017

9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Children’s Railroad Days art display and used book sale at the Durand Memorial Library

10 a.m.-5 p.m. Depot-open to visitors-see booklet article for more details
-Durand Union Station Model Railroad Engineers display

Noon-5 p.m. -Treasures Along the Rail: Artwalk 2017-a self-guided walking art and architecture tour. Start at the Pullman Baggage car in Iron Horse Park (next to the fire hall) to get your information packet and ticket for a free caricature.

3 p.m.-6 p.m. Chainsaw carver, Ken Buggia, demonstrating and selling carvings across from the Activity Tent

5 p.m.-Closing Carnival rides by Big Rock Amusements sponsored by Durand Area Lions Club. Wristband price for this session is $20.

6 p.m. Award Ceremony Honoring 2017 Railroad Person of the Year, Rod Baker-Durand Union Station ballroom-Open to the Public

7:30 p.m.-Midnight Wine tasting presented by Burgdorf Winery of Haslett and beer tasting with beers from Right Brain Brewery of Traverse City; light snacks provided. Music bby the Mysterians. Located in the parking lot west of the Sandula Clock Tower-sponsored by Graff of Durand. Smokin’ in the D barbeque located in front of the Wine Tent.

9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Children’s Railroad Days art display and used book sale at the Durand Memorial Library

10 a.m. Rib Burn-check in and meat inspection-sponsored by Smokin’ in the D, Union Station Smokehouse, ATI Physical Therapy of Owosso, Randy Wise Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Durand and Railroad Days, Inc.

10 a.m.-5 p.m. Depot-Open to visitors–events include:
-Freight Room Food Wagon Open-selling food and snacks
-Operation Life Saver display
-Durand Union Station Model Railroad Engineers display
-Michigan Small Scale Live Steamers
-Mich Association of Railroad Passengers will share joys of train travel

10 a.m.-5 p.m. Caboose located at corner of Main & Railroad Streets open to the public

10 a.m.-5 p.m. Shuttle service to the Depot available on the corner of Main & Railroad streets courtesy of Graff Chevrolet, Randy Wise Chrysler Jeep Dodge and the Durand Union Station

11 a.m. Parade line up at Durand High School

11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Queen’s reception for Miss Railroad Days and visiting royalty-First Congregational Church on Saginaw Street (invitation only)

11 a.m.-5 p.m. Treasures Along the Rail: Iron Horse Park: Railroad exhibits in the Pullman Baggage Car: Durand and the Titanic Connection; free caricature portraits (limited, first come first serve); free bouncy house for children under 8-years old; tour Engine 5632; see the gate tower; flea market and Artisans along Centennial Walkway (weather permitting); surprises and refreshments-see article for more details.

1 p.m. -4 p.m. Grand Trunk and Ann Arbor Galleries open on the second floor of the Depot

2 p.m. Ice Cream Social in the Activity Tent (while supplies last-come early!!!) Sponsored by SageLink Credit Union

2:45 p.m. Michigan Stiltwalker, Neil Sauter, performs in the Activity Tent-Free-Sponsored by Riverside Market of Durand

3 p.m. KidsQue-check in-sponsored by Smokin’ in the D, ATI Physical Therapy of Owosso, Union Station Smokehouse, Durand Meat Processing, Ace Hardware of Durand and Railroad Days, Inc.

3:30 p.m.-7 p.m. BUBBLEBall Experience. $3 to play. Grassy area of Main and Railroad Streets near the Caboose and Cow Bingo

4 p.m. Cow Bingo in the grassy area of Main and Railroad Streets near the train tracks-Tickets can be purchased from Durand FFA members and Alumni or from Matt and Sandy Blight at Blight Propane. If numbers are available, they can also be purchased at the site from 3 p.m.-3:45 p.m.

5:30 p.m. Sawdust Pile Treasure Hunt for children ages 1-10 on Main St. just east of Choo- Choo Square-sponsored by Acker Agency and XYZ Landscape Supply

9 a.m. Choo-Choo Trot begins-Durand Middle School

9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Registration for the Beautiful Baby Contest-$15/child in the Activity Tent-sponsored by A&R Portraits of Durand and Sagelink Credit Union

11 a.m. Beautiful Baby Contest begins

11 a.m.-3 p.m. Model Train Show-Durand Middle School; admission-$5.00; Children10 years of age and under are free

1 p.m. KIDDIE TRACTOR PEDAL PULL begins on Main Street just east of Choo-Choo Square (in the Wine Tent if weather is inclement)– Sponsored by local area businesses and civic groups beginning with Class 1 (ages 3& 4) and Class 2 (ages 5&6). Class 3 (ages 7&8) and Class 4 (ages 9&10) will start after Classes 1 and 2 are finished. Organized by the Durand Lions Club and the Iron Horse Pub. FREE!!!

2 p.m.-4 p.m. Durand Church of God-contemporary Christian music featuring a Keytar soloist and talented musicians
